I’ve just loaded the entire route for this year’s ride into Bike Route Toaster. I’m not sure it was a good idea…
So that’s just over 700km in five days. Nearly 10,000m of climbing in total. We actually finish 300m lower than we start, so we’re effectively cycling downhill…
The first big spike you can see above is Alpe d’Huez. The second (which we’ll be tackling on the same day) is the Col du Galibier. The big one at the end is Mont Ventoux. It’s all a bit scary; but bloody exciting too.
Our squad is pretty much complete now and it looks like we’ll have 18 cyclists on the trip this year, which is fantastic.

oh lordy…this is scary, but fun. can’t wait.
Mark, have you tried compressing the y-axis. Just an idea.
It’s a good point. I also find that stretching the x-axis to the full 700km flattens things out a bit.
No idea how you’re going to top this route in 2011 but hope to be there to find out…
